Buckshot Inn

My kiddo and I recently stayed at the Buckshot Inn passing through on our way to visit family, and we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was quiet, clean and the bed was pretty darn comfortable. The location was great as well, being within walking distance of a couple of different restaurants. We had the opportunity to meet the new manager of the building and he was a helpful, kind and informative about the area. I would for sure bring my family here to stay again.

I looked at all the bad reviews and tried to avoid this hotel. I knew someone who had stayed here the week before. They were very satisfied. So I booked a room. We were pleased with the cleanliness. No roaches as stated in a review, yes I looked under the bed out of curiosity. They asked for cash -no cards. I asked for a receipt, the young lady gladly gave it to me. She said she had only been there a month. It looks like the rooms are slowly being updated as it is an old motel. I would stay here again.

After a 15-hour day of driving home from Christmas vacation, my husband and I decided to stop in Smith Center, Nebraska we thought it was bigger than it is. The Buckshot Inn was pretty much the only option unless we kept driving. I’ll be honest, we were nervous because of the reviews. My husband called while we were eating and they had a room available for us and our two dogs. They do check or cash only, which felt a little sketchy at first, but we were exhausted and needed sleep. Check-in was smooth and the two people at the front desk were genuinely friendly. The room was exactly what you’d expect from a non-brand motel, no fancy linens or towels. It was clean and had what we needed a TV, mini fridge, and microwave. We slept well. Just know the walls are thin, so you’ll hear traffic and possibly your neighbors. Overall, it was perfect for a quick overnight stop between long driving days, especially with dogs.
